Dorothy’s diverse career has spanned roles as a midwife practitioner, clinical nurse, university lecturer, clinical facilitator, maternal child health manager, and project lead. Her journey to becoming a published author was shaped by the tragic loss of her son, Alexander (Zoomie), at the age of 17. Her first book, Chookity Chook, is a story originally created for him when he was just 4 years old. This publication stands as a legacy to him, with his enduring spirit continuing to inspire her to write more stories. The rugged beauty of the Outback has ignited Dorothy’s passion for writing and storytelling, providing solace and inspiration in equal measure.
