Cate Greener was born in New Zealand in 1993 to British parents. Attending 7 different schools and not staying anywhere for long, she found her friends in books.
Aged 7, she had a teacher in Texas read her ‘The Witches’ by Roald Dahl. Her teacher would read a chapter weekly, but undetected, she started to dress as a witch weeks before the chapter on how to spot one... This inspired and ignited a deep love of reading, and she quickly grew obsessed with Roald Dahl. She would find new authors and grow obsessed with them, reading and disappearing into all of the stories they’d tell.
She took them with her all over the world, living in France, America, Kuala Lumpur and North Scotland before moving down to Brighton aged 18 to follow her passion for music. She’s worked in hospitality, as a mailwoman, a horse-riding instructor, a carer, and a secondary school supply teacher, but her passion lies with song and story writing.
