In The Princess Noelle Chronicles, collection of stories - debut author Angel Greaves offers readers an immersive and richly allegorical tale that blends fantasy, spiritual symbolism, and emotional healing into one empowering journey. At its heart is Princess Noelle, a radiant soul with a unique connection to the Light, whose destiny is bound to the restoration of a kingdom, and the awakening of those trapped in fear and illusion.

What begins as a personal mission soon becomes a greater battle between shadow and truth, as Noelle navigates the complexities of identity, belief, and inner strength. Through talking animals, lost children, angelic wisdom, and dark forces of doubt, Greaves invites readers of all ages to consider the power of love, self-worth, and spiritual resilience.
We caught up with Angel to find out more about her inspiration for this soulful debut and the deeper truths she hopes readers might uncover through Princess Noelle’s journey.
The Princess Noelle Chronicles feels both fantastical and deeply spiritual. What inspired the story, and when did Noelle first arrive in your imagination?
Princess Noelle arrived quietly, almost like a whisper rather than a shout. She came during a time when I was thinking deeply about resilience, faith, and the unseen strength we carry when life feels heavy. Her world formed as a place of safety and wonder, but also truth. A place where magic exists not to escape pain, but to move through it with courage. She felt less like a character I invented and more like someone I met when I needed her.

The Princess Noelle Chronicles began as a single story titled Princess Noelle and the Nutcracker, a quiet, wintry tale that carried more meaning than I first realised. As Noelle’s world unfolded, the story grew into something larger, shaped by my own deep need to nurture, protect, and guide. Princess Noelle stems from a longing to mother and to care for something living and growing, a dream I have always held but know will never be possible in the way I once imagined. Through Noelle, that love found another form. One rooted in story, nature, and gentle guidance, allowing creation, care, and hope to live on the page.
The book uses allegory to explore emotional and spiritual healing. Was that symbolic structure intentional from the start?
Yes, although it unfolded naturally rather than being planned line by line. I knew I wanted the story to speak on more than one level. Children experience emotions very deeply, even when they don’t yet have the words for them. Allegory allowed me to honour those feelings gently, wrapping meaning inside story so each reader can take what they are ready for.
Noelle’s power is connected to the Light, a recurring image throughout the book. What does that Light represent to you personally or spiritually?
The Light represents inner truth, faith, and the quiet presence that guides us when the path feels uncertain. To me, it is hope that doesn’t disappear even when things feel dark. It’s the reminder that we are never truly alone, even when we feel small or unsure of ourselves.

There are strong themes of identity, self-belief, and overcoming fear. What do you hope readers, especially younger ones, take from Noelle’s journey?
I hope they come away believing that who they are is already enough. That fear does not mean weakness and that bravery often looks like taking one small step forward while feeling unsure. Noelle doesn’t become powerful because she is fearless. She becomes powerful because she listens to her heart and learns to trust herself.
The talking animals, angelic guides and elemental forces bring real magic to the world. Were you influenced by particular mythologies or spiritual traditions?
I’ve always been drawn to stories where nature, guidance, and spirit coexist naturally. Rather than one specific mythology, I was inspired by the idea that wisdom can come from many forms. Animals, elements, and guides often appear in stories across cultures as protectors and teachers, and I wanted that same sense of gentle guidance woven into Noelle’s world.
Some scenes explore hard emotions like abandonment, insecurity and doubt. How did you balance these heavier moments with the warmth and hope that shines through the book?
By never leaving the reader alone in those moments. Even when Noelle faces difficult emotions, there is always a thread of care running alongside them. Hope doesn’t erase pain, but it sits with it. I wanted the story to feel honest without ever feeling overwhelming.
Noelle grows into her truth over time. Do you see her story as a mirror for real-world journeys of self-discovery or faith?
Very much so. Growth is rarely instant. It happens through questioning, stumbling, learning, and choosing to keep going. Noelle’s journey reflects the way many of us come into our own truth slowly, often through moments of doubt that eventually lead to deeper belief.
Writing such a symbolic and meaningful story takes care. Was there a particular message or feeling you wanted to leave with the reader?
I wanted readers to close the book feeling held. With a sense of warmth, reassurance, and quiet strength. If someone finishes the story feeling a little braver, a little more seen, or a little more hopeful, then the story has done what it was meant to do.

Outside of writing, what brings you joy or helps you reconnect with your sense of peace and purpose?
Time with children, nature, and moments of stillness bring me back to myself. Storytime, creativity, and small acts of kindness remind me why stories matter in the first place. Those quiet, grounding moments are where inspiration often returns.
Where can readers follow your journey or connect with you online?
Readers can follow my journey through The Princess Noelle Chronicles and upcoming Storytime with Angel, Bonnet & Friends projects. I love connecting with readers and sharing the magic as it grows, especially with families, educators, and little dreamers discovering Noelle’s world for the first time. My readers can also connect with me online on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
